John Walker, in full Sir John Ernest Walker, (born January 7, 1941, Halifax, Yorkshire, England), British chemist who was corecipient, with Paul D. Boyer, of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1997 for their explanation of the enzymatic process that creates adenosine triphosphate (ATP). At this point his international career had shown unusual longevity, spanning almost two decades. In 1961, they formed a backing band and performed as John, Judy and the Newports, until the band split up after an engagement in Hawaii. John Maus was born in New York City, the son of John Joseph Maus Sr., who was of German extraction, and his wife Regina. 1625 in Hingham, NFK, ENG. He became a friend of Ritchie Valens, and was an honorary pallbearer at Valens' funeral. The winner, Peter Elliott of Great Britain, persuaded Walker to accompany him on a lap of honor. He also began writing and composing material, mainly for other artists, and formed his own publishing company, Arena.
