I am happy that a Columbo killer who causes so many joyful moments in his only appearance is allowed to be around for so long. Instead of taking the detective somewhere where nobody knows him (or his drinking habits), Devlin takes him to an Irish bar where hes a known regular, and where he keeps a bottle of Fulls Irish Dew behind the bar! Peter Falk himself was a very decent golfer who played in a number of PGA Tour pro-am events with some of the best players in the business , Columbo trying to look impressed at Helen Stewarts llama sculpture in Dead Weight. I always rated this episode towards the bottom of the 70s run, but by coincidence i watched it on ME TV several weeks ago for the fist time in years. I was really disappointed with the revival era. While professing to be an advocate for families torn apart by the troubles in Northern Ireland, the whelp actually raises illicit funds to put guns in the hands of the Irish Republican Army. The episode could easily be shrunk down to 30 minutes and not miss anything relevant. one of my favorite episodes too but you cant go by me because I love all of them!
